The metropolis of Montenegrin tourism, Budva is one of the liveliest settlements on the Montenegrin coast during the summer months. With a history spanning nearly two thousand five hundred years, Budva is surrounded by high ramparts and is decorated primarily with Venetian architecture. The Old Town is a Roman necropolis with historical and cultural treasures such as altars, ancient pylons, pre-Christian basilicas and many churches. Budva, which also takes on the identity of a “Theater City” in the summer months, adds color to summer evenings with literary evenings, concerts and exhibitions organized on the theater stage set up in the Poets’ Square in the old town.
Apart from the old city, which is becoming more and more popular every day, the new city is growing rapidly and the number of people living here is increasing. Home to luxury yachts, new buildings, restaurants, bars and nightclubs where great entertainment continues until the first light of the morning, Budva has magnificent beaches, ice-cold drinks and a special seafood island opposite. In the evenings, you will be fascinated by the loud music coming from the cafes on the promenade along the coast, the laughter of children coming from the green and clean parks, the smell of sea and iodine mixed with the delicious barbecue aromas, the magnificent shows of disco lights competing with each other in the sky, those watching you from above with paragliders, those interested in underwater sports and those sitting in cafes enjoying all these beauties.
None of the sandy, semi-pebble and pebble beaches on the Budva Riviera are alike. Some of the beaches with reddish, colored or gray pebbles are directly open to the sea, some are sheltered by small coves and some are under the shade of dense pine trees.
Budva shines as a city where no one sleeps until dawn. In addition to the intense nightlife, beaches offering a variety of activities throughout the day, luxury hotels by the sea, cafeterias, shopping and handicraft areas, parks, eco-friendly accommodations on the slopes make the holiday here worth staying awake for.
