There are two small rocky islands about 1000 meters from the entrance to the port of Petrovac.
The first of the islands is a small island called Sveta Nadelja (Easter Market). It takes its name from the small church on top. According to legend, the church was built by Greek sailors who survived a shipwreck near Petrovac. When the sea threw them ashore, this small island became their first shelter and they wanted to thank God for their survival by building the church. Since the disaster occurred on a Sunday, the island was named Sveta Nadelja (Easter Market). The current building replaced an old building that was destroyed in an earthquake in 1979. The bell in the church is still used on official church holidays. The church is illuminated at night, creating a mystical image for visitors at night.
The second, larger island is called ”Katić”. There is a small lighthouse and a small cave, as well as a few pine trees that match the lonely island. Both islands can be reached by boats rented from the port of Petrovac, or for the more adventurous, by canoe or pedal boat.
