At the end of the coastline is the Venetian castle – Castel Lastva (Castle of Kastio). The castle was built in the 16th century to defend the coast against pirate invasions. Today it operates as a high-quality restaurant, a music club, a museum, a café and a disco. At the end of the natural harbour, you can climb the narrow steps to the top of the castle. From here, you can enjoy a photogenic view of the town, the surrounding hill, the marina and the beach. The townhouse also houses the 15th-century Orthodox Church of St. Elijah.
